Pisa
Antiquely talking Pisa's origins are unknown. The city of Pisa lies between two rivers: Arno and Auser Rivers (the last one now is disappeared). Antique archeological rests from the Fifteenth century confirm the existence of a city at the sea, trading with Greeks and Gaul. Others excavations of Etruscan necropolis was discovered in the Arena Garibaldi.Pisa city besides of all these antique testimonies, has got many others historical and cultural monuments to discover and to admire personally.
The most famous sightseeing are:
- The Leaning Tower which is the most famous image of the city;
- The "Square of Miracles" or Piazza dei Miracoli;
- The Duomo (the Cathedral);
- The Baptistry;
- And the Camposanto (the monumental cemetery).
Other interesting sights include:
- The Orto botanico of Pisa is Europe's oldest university botanical garden;
- The Gothic church of Santa Maria della Spina, attributed to Giovanni Pisano;
- The Medici Palace;
- The Knights' Square (called “Piazza dei Cavalieri”), where it is possible to admire the Palazzo della Carovana, with its impressive façade designed by Giorgio Vasari
