Grosseto

Grosseto is a city that its origin comes from Middle-Age times. Grosseto is one of the most attractive Southern cities of Tuscany region. Very pleasant are the sightseeing to the historical centre of the city of Grosseto, surrounded by the ancient six-sided shape walls. Continuing along all the perimeter of these Medieval walls, it is possible to admire the two principal cardinal doors: the first one is situated in the Northern side and the second one is located in the Southern side. The last one is the most well-known of the city, called Porta Vecchia (the Old Door). In the centre of the city of Grosseto you can admire one of the most impressive monuments of the ancient city: the Cathedral of St Lorenzo. It was called so because St Lorenzo was the Patron of this city.
The antique Cathedral of St Lorenzo was built in Gothic style.
Another important masterpieces, that it must not miss, id the Aldobrandeschi Palace, designed by Lorenzo Porciatti.
Grosseto beside of being an important tourist destination, it represents also an ideal seaside resort.
