Cezanne
Cézanne in Florence is the story of two young men, Egisto Paolo Fabbri and Charles Alexander Loeser, who fell in love with the works of the genius of Paul Cézanne. These two young men bought, 1896,three paintings by Cézanne each from Ambrosie Vollard and they kept their Cézannes, showing their collections only to those who, in their opinion, could appreciate them.
The exhibition is housed on the piano nobile of Palazzo Strozzi, one of the most beautiful building in Florence and the curators of the exhibition are Francesca Bardazzi, a well-known scholar of Cézanne collections in Italy, and Carlo Sisi, the former director of the Gallery of Modern Art at Palazzo Pitti and one of the utmost experts on that period.
